Health Handoff is an iPhone utility in release preparation. Use this guide for the planned 1.0 flow; details may be refined before public availability.

Set up Health Handoff

  1. Open Health Handoff on an iPhone that supports HealthKit and tap Continue.
  2. In Apple's permission sheet, choose the health categories you want Health Handoff to read. The app does not request write access.
  3. Return to Health Handoff. The app reads the visible data for today and prepares a daily summary on the iPhone.
  4. Tap Copy AI-ready summary to place the plain-text summary on the clipboard, then paste it into the destination you choose.

You can review or change Health access later in the Health app under Sharing → Apps and Services. The exact labels may vary by iOS version.

How HealthKit permissions behave

Health Handoff asks HealthKit for read access only. Apple keeps per-category choices under your control, and Health Handoff cannot change them itself.

HealthKit does not tell an app whether read access to an individual data type was denied. An empty result can therefore mean that nothing was recorded, nothing was shared, or the data was not visible to the app. Health Handoff does not try to guess which one happened.

“No visible data” does not mean zero

The quality audit uses “No visible data” when HealthKit returns no sample the app can see. That state is kept separate from a successful zero, a failed query, and a value whose recorded date is stale or unknown.

If a metric looks incomplete, check that the source device recorded it, review Health permissions, and try Refresh. Health Handoff will not substitute zero for missing information.

Free and Lifetime features

Today's summary and AI-ready plain-text copy are free. The optional Lifetime Unlock is a one-time non-consumable in-app purchase—not a subscription—and the App Store presents its localized price.

Lifetime Unlock adds earlier dates, 7-day, 30-day, and custom reports up to 90 days, charts, equal-window comparisons, descriptive statistics, quality and freshness audits, and JSON, CSV, or detailed-text file exports.

Restore Lifetime Unlock

  1. Open About from the top-right corner in Health Handoff.
  2. Choose Restore Purchases in the Lifetime Unlock section.
  3. Make sure the iPhone is signed in to the Apple Account that completed the original purchase.

Apple processes and verifies the purchase. If no entitlement is found, confirm the Apple Account and try again when the App Store is available. No HealthKit permission is needed to reach the purchase or restore controls.

Copy, export, and share

Copy places today's plain-text summary on the system clipboard. With Lifetime Unlock, file export writes the chosen JSON, CSV, or detailed text report to the app's temporary directory, then opens Apple's system share sheet.

You choose the destination. Once you paste or share data into another app or service, that destination handles the copy under its own privacy policy. Review the destination before sending sensitive health information.

The proposed launch support address is contact@healthhandoff.com. Inbound email delivery is still being verified before release, so no response-time promise is made.

When practical, include the iPhone model, iOS version, app version, the task you were attempting, and the exact message shown. Do not email a health export unless it is necessary and you are comfortable sharing it.

Before the App Store release

Health Handoff 1.0 is coming to the App Store; there is no public download link yet. This support page reflects the current release preview, not a publicly available build.
