The planned Health Handoff 1.0 app reads selected HealthKit data on your iPhone and does not automatically upload it. Copying or sharing is always a user-initiated action.

Release-aligned draft · Updated July 23, 2026

1. Scope and status

This policy covers the Health Handoff iPhone app, this website, and support email. “Health Handoff,” “we,” and “us” refer to the independent developer of Health Handoff.

Health Handoff 1.0 is in release preparation. These statements describe the planned implementation and are not a third-party privacy or security audit. This policy will be rechecked against the exact distributed build before release.

2. HealthKit access and on-device processing

Health Handoff requests read-only access to the Apple Health categories you select. It does not request permission to write or change HealthKit records. Apple's system permission sheet controls access, and you can review or change access in the Health app.

Visible HealthKit samples are read and summarized on the iPhone. The planned app has no developer account system, backend, advertising, or analytics SDK, and does not automatically upload health data to the developer or a Health Handoff server.

HealthKit intentionally does not disclose whether an individual read permission was denied. The app therefore describes an absent result as “No visible data” instead of assuming that the value is zero.

3. Clipboard, export files, and sharing

When you tap Copy, Health Handoff places the daily plain-text summary on the iOS clipboard. The clipboard copy remains under iOS control until it is replaced or cleared. Only copy information you are comfortable pasting elsewhere.

When you choose a file export, the app writes the selected JSON, CSV, or detailed-text report into its temporary app directory and passes that file to Apple's system share sheet. Temporary files may remain in the app container until iOS or the app lifecycle clears them. Deleting the app removes its local container, subject to normal device backup and deletion behavior.

Health Handoff does not select or control the share destination. Once you paste or send an export to another app, AI service, cloud drive, person, or provider, that recipient's privacy and retention practices apply. Review the destination before sharing health information.

4. App preferences and retention

The app keeps the selected visual theme in local iPhone preferences. Daily summaries and generated reports are held in app memory while in use; export files are written only when you initiate a file share. There is no Health Handoff account or developer-hosted health profile to retrieve or delete.

You control the underlying health records through Apple Health and the source apps or devices that created them. Removing access stops future reads but does not delete the original records from Apple Health.

5. Lifetime Unlock and StoreKit

Lifetime Unlock is an optional one-time non-consumable in-app purchase processed by Apple. Health Handoff asks StoreKit for the product's localized price and checks verified current entitlements and transaction updates to decide whether Lifetime features are available.

The planned app does not receive or store payment-card details and does not send purchase records to a Health Handoff backend. Apple manages the App Store account, billing record, purchase verification, restoration, and any eligible Family Sharing under Apple's policies and account controls.

6. This website

This release site has no account, submission form, or advertising. Contact links open your email app instead of sending information through the site. The website uses Vercel Web Analytics for aggregated visitor and page-view reporting. Vercel states that this service does not use third-party cookies or persistent identifiers to follow a visitor across sites.

Vercel Web Analytics may process the page path, referrer, approximate region, browser, operating system, and device type to provide aggregated statistics. We do not send custom events or health-export contents to Vercel Analytics. Read more in Vercel's Web Analytics privacy documentation.

Google Analytics is optional and loads only after you choose Allow Google Analytics. Its standard website measurement can store first-party _gacookies to distinguish visitors and sessions and can process page URLs, referrers, approximate location, and browser or device information. The site configures Google Signals, ad storage, ad user data, and ad personalization as disabled. Google's handling is described in the Google Privacy Policy.

Your Google Analytics preference is stored in browser local storage. Choose Analytics choicesin the footer to change it. Turning Google Analytics off updates consent and attempts to remove its first-party cookies; you can also clear this site's cookies and local storage in your browser.

If you choose a color theme or System, Light, or Dark appearance, the site stores those two visual preferences in browser local storage so they persist on this device. They are not used as an account, analytics identifier, or advertising signal.

Vercel hosts this website and may process technical request data needed to deliver and protect it, such as IP address, request time, browser headers, and requested URL. Website analytics does not change the Health Handoff app's on-device processing or its lack of an analytics SDK.

7. Support email

If you email contact@healthhandoff.com, we receive the address, message, and attachments you choose to send. We use them to respond, investigate the request, prevent abuse, or keep ordinary business records.

Support correspondence is kept only as reasonably needed for those purposes or legal obligations. You may request deletion, subject to records we must retain. Avoid sending health exports or other sensitive information unless necessary. Inbound delivery to this proposed address must still be confirmed before deployment.

8. Children

The app does not require anyone to create an account or send personal information to the developer. If a parent or guardian believes a child sent personal information by support email, contact us so we can review and, where appropriate, delete it.

9. Changes and contact

We will update this policy before materially changing app or site data handling and will reconcile it with the distributed app and App Store disclosures. Privacy questions or requests can be sent to contact@healthhandoff.com.
